Update 1/21/2013. Look at Stanley now! Posted 12/14/2012. Stanley came into a local shelter as a stray. His fur was so dirty and thickly matted that the shelter workers could not tell if he was a boy or a girl! When they shaved Stanley, they not only discovered that he was a male, but also found that he had sarcoptic mange, a highly treatable condition, but one that is unwanted in a shelter because it is contagious to other dogs. Stanley?s life was on the line, and the following day he was scheduled to be euthanized. That is when Furry Friends Network stepped in, placing Stanley in a foster home, seeing that he received the care he needed. Now this friendly, sweet boy is looking better. His hair is growing in and looks to be gray and brownish in color. His new wisps of hair are silky and soft. And the best news is that the vet has deemed him free of mange. So Stanley is getting ready to start a new life and is looking for a home with a family that will appreciate him. He is about five-years old, weighs about 40 pounds, is friendly with people of any age or sex, likes other dogs, is calm and relaxed, enjoys walks but also is quite happy taking long naps.
